Having been racing in Ridge Racer Slipstream on my iPad (check out the review here), I’ve been wanting to race in some licensed cars. It seems that Eutechnyx, together with Crooz, Inc are about to release a game that will scratch that itch. Titled ACR DRIFT, the game will feature 50 cars from 17 manufacturers, with over 20 street courses in real-world locations including Hong Kong, Moscow, Las Vegas and Italy. Check out the press release below for more details, the tentative release date and of course, screenshots!

Eutechnyx, a leading independent developer and publisher of motorsport games, announced today it is collaborating with Japanese mobile games company CROOZ, Inc. to ready its new, free-to-play (F2P), mobile racing game – ACR DRIFT™ – for a worldwide launch in late February. Rooted in the style of Eutechnyx’s own F2P racer, Auto Club Revolution (www.autoclubrevolution.com), this original title introduces a more accessible style of racing and drifting, developed natively for mobile, with real-time multiplayer support coming soon after launch.

“With the upcoming international release of ACR DRIFT™, Auto Club Revolution is ready to take its place as a true franchise in the fast-paced world of competitive auto racing games,” remarked Eutechnyx CEO Darren Jobling. “By partnering with CROOZ, Inc., we’re able to vastly broaden the reach and appeal of the Auto Club Revolution brand, creating fresh gameplay experiences specifically tailored to new platforms and new markets.”

ACR DRIFT™ focuses on the fun, the challenge and the payoff of mastering the perfect track turn, gliding gracefully across corners and narrowly avoiding obstacles with the simple swipe of a fingertip. Players have access to more than 50 supercars from 17 cutting-edge manufacturers, gorgeously brought to life with impeccable visual detail, lighting and graphical performance for mobile platforms.

The game jets drivers around the globe to over 20 street courses in real-world locales – including Moscow, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Italy – throughout its in-depth, single-player Story mode. The title also offers optional, premium in-app purchases and a range of fine-tuning and customization choices for each vehicle. The addition of a real-time, online multiplayer mode, letting racers face off against rivals from all over the world, is currently slated for a major content update in March of this year.
