Steam Next Fest 2024 will run from February 5th to February 12th 2024 and is a celebration of upcoming games. This is an opportunity for gamers to check out demos, watch livestreams and chat with developers with regards to their games. Here are some of the games to take note of:

Underling Uprising

Underling Uprising is a modern day beat’em up inspired by ’90s cartoons. Published by Abylight Studios and made by indie game developers Dummy Dojo, the game allows players to fight across the world as the Underlings, a group of scientifically enhance experiments, replete with their own unique powers and out for revenge against the mad scientist that created them.

The demo for Underling Uprising will be available during the Steam Next Fest starting from February 5th and features 10-15 minutes of gameplay and two characters. The full game is slated to be released in third quarter of 2024 for PCs and consoles with 4-player co-op and versus modes, seven lengthy stages, and various vehicles to exact carnage on your foes, from mechs to space pods.

The Land Beneath Us

Out from South Asia’s indie gaming studio Fairplay Studios, comes The Land Beneath Us, a turn-based rogue-lite action dungeon crawler. Players get to use powerful skill combos and stylish weaponry to battle their way through the Underworld known as Annwn. Enjoy challenging dynamic encounters and discover the mysteries of this mythological world.

The demo for the game will be available during the Steam Next Fest from the 5th of February. The game is also scheduled to be launched on the PS5, Nintendo Switch and the Xbox Series X|S.

News Tower

Feeling like wanting to be the next Rupert Murdoch? In indie developer Sparrow Night’s upcoming title, News Tower, you play the role of a publisher of a down-on-its-luck newspaper, and your goal is to turn fortune around and build a booming media empire!

Manage and recruit staff (as well as keep them happy) to fill in positions in every role imaginable in a news media org chat, track exciting news across the globe, match editorial line with readers’ interest and watch out for powerful factions.

Voxlands

Voxray Games is excited to announce its participation with Voxlands in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, running from 5 to 12 February, 2024.

The gorgeous voxel adventure seamlessly blends FPS, RPG and survival elements into a unique and visually striking ray-traced experience. Voxlands will be part of the official Steam Next Fest selection, and the expansive demo is already available on Steam. Champion Shift

Champion Shift, the first PC title from mobile developer SRG Studios, will be featured in the Steam Next Fest 2024, followed by an early access release. Publishing label Little Nook, part of Hyper Luminal Games welcomes everyone to play the demo for their whimsical and heart-tugging adventure puzzler Pine Hearts during the Steam Next Fest. Shadow of the Depth

Shenzen-based developer ChillyRoom has a pretty dramatic trailer for their upcoming top-down action roguelike, Shadow of the Depth. The game is also in the lineup for the Steam Next Fest 2024 and a demo is now available for players to check out.

Players get to dive into an ever-changing, interweaving series of dungeons in the hunt for revenge in this dark and rich action roguelite adventure. Launching in Early Access on Steam later this year, Shadow of the Depth will feature an immersive combat system, five distinct characters, and a dark, hand-drawn world for players to discover.

The exclusive Steam Next Fest demo, which is available now, includes two of the five playable characters, three levels to explore across a desolate village, and a formidable boss waiting in the depths. This exclusive demo offers players the perfect opportunity to get to grips with the rich combat mechanics while also providing a brief taste of what lies in store within the game’s darkest reaches.

Please, Touch the Artwork 2

In this charming hidden-object game by indie game developer Thomas Waterzooi, players assist a wandering skeleton artist in navigating a surreal, hand-painted universe, while collecting hidden objects for its quirky inhabitants. ​The game features casual puzzles as players fix gaps and cracks in paintings from works by James Ensor, a Belgian pioneer in the world of Modern Art.

The game’s demo is now available in conjunction with the Steam Next Fest, and what’s more, the full release of the game is on the 19th of February, and it’ll be completely free-to-play with no ads or in-app purchases!
