Plenty of cool video game trailers came out in the past couple of days during E3 2010, and the best part is you can check them out on Nine Over Ten 9/10. First up is Civilization 5, a PC exclusive that well, makes me want to get a new machine just so I can play the game. The unique part of this trailer it’s part documentary, interview and a showcase of what the game can do:

Next up is the return  of NBA JAM! Yup, my generation of gamers should be really familiar with this over-the-top basketball fest. All I can say about the trailer (and probably applies to the upcoming game as well)…IT’S ON FIRE!!!!

While Metal Gear Solid Rising’s announcement that the main character would be the stiletto wearing cyborg ninja Raiden raised a few eyebrows, the trailer, dubbed, See How You Cut showcases Raiden at his best: chopping people up. The trailer is gory and probably requires a M rating, so hide your kids (!) before watching:

Last but not least, Kid Icarus Uprising. As the launch title for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS console it looks surprisingly epic, exceeding even my expectations for the game. I may just want to get the new console just because of this:

These new Bioshock 2 Action Figures from Neca look to be pretty cool. There are even a pair of Little Sisters which in my book look like creepy little things from Children of the Corn:

The 2nd day of E3 2010′s coverage didn’t yield much items of interest, except that Gran Turismo 5 finally gets dated with the release date being set for November 2 and like Killzone 3, it will be in 3D.  Also announced is the premium subscription to the PSN, called PlayStation Plus which for USD 49.99 a year, offers additional content, early demo access and discounts on certain items within the PlayStation Store.

The first portal was a crazy game which well, unlike the hordes of fans out there, I didn’t share the same sentiment (I didn’t like the game). But in anycase, Portal 2 was announced for the PS3(!) and a trailer was released too! The antagonist sounds two levels down from that crazy Shodan AI from System Shock 2….creepy:

THQ and Relic supplied probably the coolest trailer of the day, in the form of Warhammer 40000: Space Marine. It’s a 3rd person action-RPG game coming for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Check out some Orc-bashing in the game’s first ever trailer, below:

Looks like a trailer fest for this year’s E3 and it’s fun because one of my favourite games on the PS3, Red Faction Guerrilla is getting a sequel, Red Faction Armageddon which is set for a March 2011 release. In Armageddon, the Mars that you worked so hard in prying from the cold dead hands of the EDF is now in ruins and the fighting goes sub-terranean. Check out the trailer below:

Check this out, it’s the new (and official) Transformers: War for Cybertron E3 2010 trailer and it features some voice overs by Optimus Prime and Megatron, along with some big-bot action in the form of everyone’s favourite gigantic T-Rex, Trypticon. Watch it now below:

It’s been a while since I wrote anything about Halo, but after being contacted by the nice people at M80 regarding a certain trailer, I had to check it out. Birth of a Spartan is the official live-action trailer for Halo: Reach. If you read the novels, you would know that the augmentation process for the Spartan-II process is pretty gruelling. Birth of a Spartan on the other hand instead gives a glimpse of the Spartan-III program’s augmentation procedures with Carter-259, future leader of Noble Team, as the subject.

We also get to see the Noble Team’s Spartan-III armor which unlike other Spartan-III teams, employ the MJOLNIR armor, and not the cheaper (and less powerful) SPI armor. Yay (no offense but I really hated the look of the SPI armor, MJOLNIR FTW!!)! Overall, the trailer looks pretty cool, and I share the same impression as many a commenter on the trailer that it should be made into a live-action film. Just in case you are wondering about the title of this post, I’ve not gone mad. There’s such as thing, albeit the controller is  a replica and made out of icing sugar. I got this a couple of days back, from a friend celebrating the birth of her baby boy.

Out of the Big Three war game franchises, two of them, Call of Duty and Battlefield have recent blockbuster hits, and come the 12th of October 2010, it’s Medal of Honor’s turn. I just finished watching the latest teaser trailer for the upcoming game, and it’s nothing like the typical gung-ho gun crazy trailers that we are accustomed to when it comes to war games. Instead, it’s a poignant call home from a soldier shipped off to the front lines. Check it out:

Psst…hey you..yes, I’m talking to you, Medal of Honor fanboy. Want in on how to get the M24 in the upcoming Medal of Honor when it comes out this upcoming holiday season? What? You don’t know what a M24 is? It’s a pretty sweet sniper rifle and it’s bound to give you an early edge over other MoH players when the game comes out.

Enough chatter. Time to hit the supermarket as today you get to dress up your Battlefield Bad Company 2 soldier not with supermarket items but with the all new Kit Upgrade DLC. But here’s why it would necessiate a trip to the nearest supermarket/convenience store:

North American gamers can punch in a promo code printed on specially marked Dr. Pepper cans to unlock the pack, which contains 4 kits (one for each class) with specific unique uniforms and camouflaged weapons to give you a visual edge on the battlefield. The DLC is released today (21st April) on the Xbox 360 and is coming soon for the PS3/PC.

Since Dr. Pepper shipments are halted to the UK and the rest of Europe due a certain Icelandic volcano…(wait, don’t they ship it via container ships??), gamers over there can get hold of the kit upgrades for 160 MS points per kit upgrade or 440 MS points for the bundle pack (all kits).
