Google Chrome is a pervasive little beast, considering that it’s a piece of beta software. If you are not careful, upon installation, it’ll import everything from your Firefox browser, add its shortcut icon all over the place, and then proceed to make itself the default browser. Beta? Default?
I like the speed and all, and that crazy thing it does with Javascript, but the next big thing ain’t the big thing yet in my laptop. Down Chrome..down, you over-eager chihuahua of a browser.
Chrome is no longer in Beta for a long time, unless you’re testing the new beta versions of course.
But things like that shouldn’t happen. Opera 10 alpha for example install itself in a different directory, and even the stable version doesn’t automatically set itself as the default browser upon installation.
Sometimes it feels like all the software makers are trying to take over our machines whether we like it or not. :/
🙂 I don’t think I’m the only one to think that Google is out to own every single one of us.
