Current indie PC title Tanuki Sunset is about to make its console debut, first with the PlayStation 4 & 5 on the 2nd of November, followed by the Xbox on the 4th. There are also plans by developer Rewind Games to release the game for the Nintendo Switch on a later date.

Tanuki Sunset is a fun, arcade-style longboarding game starring a radical, thrill-seeking raccoon! Players get into a flow state and master the art of drifting as they speed downhill – dodging traffic, catching air, and nailing tricks – in a bid to become the first raccoon to complete Sunset Island’s legendary longboard trail.

The debut title from Vancouver based studio, Rewind Games, Tanuki Sunset reflects the two man team’s shared love of listening to music while cruising on their longboards. It started to take shape as a game concept when they noticed a gap in the market, as co-creators Adir Fakiro and Jose Maria Leon explain:

“After stumbling upon videos of downhill longboard sessions, we came to realize there aren’t many games based on the sport. We instantly started imagining a raccoon grinding his paws on tarmac trying to drift down a windy road at high speeds. Who doesn’t love raccoons? They’re little daredevils and trouble makers.”

Tanuki Sunset is already available on PC and currently has a ‘Very Positive‘ user rating on Steam, with 94% positive reviews. You can check it out over here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1251460/Tanuki_Sunset/
