Thanks to Game Pass, I’ve been checking out Maneater on the Xbox Series S; basically it is a game where you get to be a shark, gobbling up prey, people as well as other apex predators in a surprisingly compelling revenge storyline. Eating stuff grants you access to materials that you can use to evolve your blood-thirsty sea creature into becoming eventually a mega-shark.

One thing that I’m still trying to get used to in the game would be the whole 360-degree freedom-of-movement, it is rather disorientating. The first time I’ve encountered a game with such movement control was the shareware title Descent for the PC, and subsequently in games such as Homeworld which happened to be the first RTS-title to feature this, as well as Star Wars: Squadrons.

Talking about old-school titles, I’m also checking out Day of the Tentacle on the Xbox as well. It’s one of those games, which included Full Throttle, that I read about in PC magazines two decades ago but never got a chance to play.

I also had the chance to check out Overcooked! 2, and this is one crazy game where you are the chef doing everything from chopping ingredients, cooking, cleaning and serving up. I was several levels in when I realized that this game is best, or rather, should be played with more than 1 player. So if you have a partner into gaming, this is one title you should check out.

Lastly, out of curiosity, I installed Fallout 4 on the Xbox Series S just to see how it would look like on the console. I’m not really aiming for a 3rd playthrough, having done so on the PlayStation 4 and on the PC, and one major factor is that the Game Pass edition doesn’t bundle in the DLCs. Not to mention that the game got stuck at the character creation screen each time I tried to start…. seems rather odd considering that Bethesda is now part of Microsoft.

Anyways, I’ll be checking out Age of Empires IV next on Game Pass. How about you?
