It has been a really busy November with work and the only game that I’ve been playing lately is Shadow of Mordor on the PS4. It’s strange to get a new game to pry me away from Diablo III but SoM is kinda like Red Dead Redemption set in Tolkien’s Middle-Earth, and that to me, warrants greater scrutiny (read: more play-time). In any case, it should be back to normal blogging duties and I bet you guys want to know what iOS/Android games to check out this week. And by the way, Happy Thanksgiving!

First up is Alucard Games’ Dogfight Control for iOS & Android. It’s a classic line-drawing game where you control your squadron of what seems to be WW2 fighter planes against waves of enemy planes. Yup, try not to crash and avoid getting shot while blasting them out of the air. The game has the distinction of being made with Monogame, the open source successor for Microsoft’s scrapped XNA.

The full version of Dogfight Control with 30 levels is available here (iOS) and here (Android). The free version comes with the first 5 levels and are available over here (iOS) and here (Android)

Next up is the stunning looking, and Android-exclusive, Help Me Jack: Atomic Adventure. The game offers players AAA-like graphics and furious combat which are more in common with a $60 console game, combining detailed 3D graphics and hack-and-slash gameplay with top-notch art and sound design. In the game, Earth is on the brink of destruction after a mysterious explosion rips through a massive nuclear plant. Rescued by Security Manager Jack, the player is tasked with locating scientists and cleaning up PEB radiation spewing from mutants roaming the nearly destroyed planet.
