If you are fan of racing games on mobile devices, this weekend is your lucky break as there are two BRAND NEW racing games that are available for FREE on the iTunes App Store. First up is the latest addition to the venerable arcade racing franchise Crazy Taxi. Published by SEGA, designed by the original creator of the franchise, Kenji Kanno and developed by Hardlight Studios, Crazy Taxi: City Rush features adrenaline-fueled missions, high-octane gameplay and campaigns that speed through a sprawling concrete jungle to unlock, explore, and master.

Next up would be Formula Force Racing from the UK-based The Pixel Bullies. Now these guys are industry vets who have worked for the likes of Evolution Studios (SCEE), Bizarre Creations, Acclaim Entertainment, Studio Liverpool (SCEE), Rage and Digital Image Design. They have worked on some of the very best racing franchises in the world including MotorStorm, F1, Wipeout, WRC and Blur, and as such Formula Force Racing was very well received when it was first launched for Windows Phone.
Now available for iOS and for FREE until Saturday, players race in 4 championships (Super-Mini, Muscle Car, Super Car and Formula Force class) on 10 custom built race tracks designed to give the player enough down force to stick to the walls and even loop over the ceiling to open up a million racing lines. I’ve just won the Super car championship and am now setting the fastest time in the incredibly fast Formula Force class of vehicles.
I really like this game and am looking forwards to an update from The Pixel Bullies if there is one. It would be great to race against the developers ghosts in time trial or have a set of achievements to complete.
