ACQUIRE Corp., one of Japan’s top independent development studios, today announced that it is bringing Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, the all-new, re-envisioned entry in the legendary Wizardry franchise, from PlayStation®Network to the iPhone® and iPod® touch next week. The mobile version of this hardcore, dungeon-crawling RPG will be available on the App Store on November 3, 2011.

“It is an honor to bring such a respected and long-lived RPG franchise to mobile devices for the first time in history,” said Richie Casper, Creative Director at ACQUIRE. “We worked hard to ensure that Wizardry: Labyrinth of Souls for iOS stays completely true to the series’ roots while also providing players with same high-quality graphics and challenging gameplay they’ve come to expect from the console version.”

Originally developed for PlayStation®Network, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Souls revives the classic turn-based, first-person RPG combat of the 30-year old Wizardry series with a plethora of new features and hand-drawn, high-quality graphics. Taking the role of one of ten unique adventurers, players will have to build a party and descend into the depths of two massive, monster-filled dungeons if they want to uncover the secrets behind the ancient evil that has besieged the land.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Souls will be completely free-to-download when it arrives on the App Store next week. While players will initially be able to level their characters up to level five and explore the entire first floor of the “Dungeon of Trials,” brave adventurers who want to dig deeper into the depths of Labyrinth of Souls will be able to unlock the full Wizardry experience for $9.99 via In-App Purchase.
