Imagine taking a Rubik’s Cube, and spreading it out on a flat surface and you get the play-surface for Allapps’ latest game for the iPhone, called iQube. This puzzle game is pretty interesting, in each multicolour-tiled level, players are supposed to move pieces (by sliding them around) of the same colour into a set pattern located in the middle of the screen.
Once this is done, the pieces within the pattern turn silver and players are to continue the process until every tile in the level is silver in colour. The level of challenge here is to complete the level in the shortest time possible, and the game has an option to send challenges to friends using either e-mail, Facebook or Twitter.
The gameplay in iQube is both challenging and addictive, and boasts excellent replayability too. Players unlock more complex patterns as they complete the levels and there are 50+ levels to go through, and not only that, scores are both kept on local and global leaderboards. The only minor niggle here is that the game lacks a resume function.
Nine Over Ten 9/10 rates iQube with a 4/5 rating. RECOMMENDED.
