Monster Mayhem on the iPhone presents an “enemy at the gates/tower defense” kinda scenario that would have been quite scary in real life. Imagine all kinds of horror movie creatures pounding at your door and Monster Mayhem lives up to its name by providing so many different kinds of monsters for you to slice, shot, throw grenades and drop nuclear bombs at. All in the effort of preventing them from crashing down on your gate.

The game makes it worth the trouble in mowing down these cutely drawn monsters, while some suffer gruesome deaths like having their brains/eyeballs spilled on the ground, some are generous in dropping coins and equally important, ammo. There are several waves of enemies for you to deal with in each level and coins are tallied together at the end of each level. These earnings can be then used to purchase more weapons and ammo for the next level. You can also use the money to upgrade your weaspons .Anything that has not been used up will be brought forward.

I’m currently loving the sub machine gun in the game. It makes dispatching monsters a cinch, but it’s rather wasteful though. Other weapons that I like would be the shotgun and the nuke. You can switch weapons on the fly in each level and that just lends to the craziness. Pistol not working against good old Frankenstein? Try the shotgun. That little wolf boy is attacking in packs again? Bring out the sub machine gun.

Monster Mayhem is plenty of fun and hats off to the developer for creating such a looker with great gameplay. Not only do the 2D graphics look cool (and the monsters look really cute), the sound effects are pretty good as well. I’ve got no problem in recommending the game and guess what, the latest update brings about GameCenter support to the game. That’s pretty cool as well. .

Monster Mayhem is now available at the App Store for just USD 0.99. Check it out over here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/monster-mayhem/id369904028?mt=8. Highly Recommended. Do note however due to the graphical nature of this game, one would might want to stay the kids out of this one.
