About an hour ago, I had like 488 iPhone apps sitting in my computer . The amount is pretty huge and its mainly due to the review copies of games that I receive on a regular basis and games that I’ve purchased or snap up during promo periods (either for free or at a discounted price). But having such a huge amount of apps can be a pain. When I plugged in the iPhone 4 review unit for the first time a  couple of weeks ago, iTunes attempted to sync ALL of the apps onto the phone. Thankfully, a shortage of space (200 MB on an empty iPhone 4), prevented this crazy thing from happening.

Since this situation was getting unmanageable with the sync list  getting longer and longer by the day and the increasing number of apps to update , I thought it was a good time to do some app-related spring cleaning. I went on an app deletion spree. In the end, I managed to get rid of 136 apps. There might be some apps that were accidentally deleted, but like a shopping spree, you sometimes end up buying (deleting) the wrong thing. Anyways, now I have just 80 apps to update (including a whole bunch of Lonely Planet guides for European countries), and that’s down from the 120 I was staring at an hour ago.

So do yourself a favour, do some spring cleaning on your iPhone apps, less you want to have an untidy mess of not updated apps and horrible sync list scrolling moments. LOL
