Regular readers of Nine Over Ten 9/10 would know that I’m a big fan of the Vernacki Brothers and their game, vParticle on the iPhone. It’s a maze/physics game which makes use of the accelerometer to move a bunch of dots (particles) from the start of the maze to the end. The interesting part of vParticle is that the physics for every dot is calculated in real time and there are no shortage of dots on each level.

So what happens when you take a physics-intensive game on the iPhone, and then blow it up for the iPad? You get vParticleHD with all the potential of giving the new A4 processor a good workout. Check out the preview screenshot below for a comparison; it does look like things can get a little crazy on the iPad:

vParticleHD is currently undergoing review for inclusion into Apple’s App Store. vParticle is currently available for the iPhone and iPod touch. You can download the free version here or get the full version over here. For updates on the vParticle games, be sure to follow the Vernacki Brothers on Twitter at @vparticle.
