Just word yesterday that Oceanhouse Media has released four high definition apps for the new iPad. And if you have purchased one of the top selling Dr Seuss ebook apps for the iPhone (The Cat in the Hat, Dr Seuss’s ABC, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas), they are now updated for free to run on High Definition on the iPad.

Now on the bigger format of the iPad, children get to experience the artwork and interactivity of Dr. Seuss in close to full, printed book size. These eBooks include innovative features that promote reading in young children, such as highlighted words, picture/word associations, professional narrations and custom background audio.

The new Auto Play feature on the three e-books mean even the youngest of kids can experience the eBooks without interruption. The question still remains though on whether the iPad can be a bed-time storyteller 🙂

Oceanhouse’s first foray into iPhone apps was a game called Bowls, a blissful, meditative experience in which the user plays seven different Tibetan bowls, each on a different screen. Now Bowls HD puts all seven bowls in a single screen (thanks to the iPad’s screen) plus accompanying instruments, making it easier for players to make their musical masterpieces.
