If you are a fan of Naruto, you can probably tell that Makibishi Comic for the iPhone has plenty of references to it. The ninja theme, character design, level names and the visual style of the game pay tribute to the popular manga/anime series but those are where the similarities end.

Makibishi Comic is a different, if not strange kettle of fish. The game’s premise require you to look for 5 Robot Ninjas in levels that can be best described as “Where’s Wally” on the iPhone. Tapping on certain characters on screen will yield information on what locations to tap in order to find these elusive Ninjas.  I found one in  the belly of a T-Rex. Crazy right?

There are also disturbing images like that of a monster producing ninjas out from his ass. Yup, I kid you not, and that is just one of the reasons to put this one away from kids. Newbies would have a learning curve ahead of them when it comes to this game, as not much is revealed on what to do in a particular level.

Graphics wise, I kind of like the 2D line art design, and it reminds me of ….Warioware. Comparisons with other crazy games aside,  I can’t really recommend Makibishi Comic, it’s just too weird and not player friendly.

But if you dig this kind of stuff, by all means, it’s available on the App Store for USD 1.99. Click here to purchase.
