It certainly feels weird playing PopCap Games’ Bejeweled 2 on the Playstation 3. Everything looks… big, so much so the only phrase I can think of now is the Malay idiom “rambang mata”. Not only does it look weird, it plays weird as well. Playing using the Dualshock 3 takes some getting used to since both the D-pad and the O action button is required to swap places between two jewels.

Thank Goodness

I’m thankful though no smart aleck programmer implemented a Sixaxis control scheme for this game. Imagine: Press O and move the DS3/Sixaxis in a upwards/downwards/left/right

Bejeweled 2 features the classic original untimed game, aptly named Classic and 3 other game modes, namely Action, Puzzle and Endless. Action will have you racing against time to complete a level whereas in Puzzle, you’ll need to move the jewels around to solve problematic formations. Like its name implies, the endless mode will have you play a neverending game of Bejeweled.

Unlock It

Only the Classic and Puzzle modes are made available in the demo. Not only will you gain access to the other two modes in the full game, but also full trophy support! Bejeweled 2 is available on the US Playstation Store for just USD 9.99, or you can also check out the demo which is available now.
