The folks at Telltale Games have been very busy this New Year. First up, they are having their Epic iOS Sale from the 19th of January to the 29th of January. This ten-day sales sees a truly great selection of games going for just USD 0.99. This includes Sam & Max: The Penal Zone Episode 1, the Puzzle Agent Series and the Hector: Badge of Carnage games.

Also, Telltale Games is thrilled to announce that the fourth episode of Law & Order: Legacies, Nobody’s Child is now available on iOS.  Based on NBCUniversal’s Emmy-winning Law & Order TV series, Law & Order: Legacies allows players to work cases as both investigators and district attorneys alongside the full roster of fan-favorite characters from the Law & Order franchise.

iOS gamers can now access the next case of Law & Order: Legacies, ‘Nobody’s Child ‘ via in-app purchase, and available to those who have previously bought the series Multi-Pack for $12.99. The 4th of July weekend just concluded a couple of days ago and I kinda went on a mini shopping spree, snapping games up such as X-MEN, Astro Boy, Race After, Starfront, Transformers:Dark of the Moon, on the App Store, and more importantly, for cheap (at 99 cents each). Steam was also having its Summer Camp Sale, so I helped myself to Torchlight and Defense Grid for a total sum of less than 6 bucks.

My fiance went over to the States for a week last week and brought back nearly USD 100 worth of iTunes gift cards. These make for good souvenirs as the designs are really cool looking. I’m setting aside some of the amount for Lion while the remainder should be sufficient for a month or two…since we video game developers tend to be flooded with promo codes anyways.

The guys behind Magical Illusions – Amazing Eye Illusions for the iPhone (read the review here), Apalon, have released an update to Eye Illusions HD for the iPad on February 8th. In addition to the big number of illustrations that Apalon adds on a regular basis, a new section called “Magic” has been added to the iPad app, this allows users to enjoy illustrations in a great new way on the iPad.

With the use of a special virtual grid, images can be transformed into animations and objects will literally start moving at the users’ fingertips. Also, the app now allows users to share illusions via Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, or simply e-mail the illusion.

Eye Illusions HD is a collection of various kinds of illusions: Weird Lines, Motion Illusions, Color Tests, Impossible Objects, Video Illusions (this section was created in cooperation with Kokichi Sugihara, the winner of the Illusion Contest 2010), Magical Images and much more.

You know what? You shouldn’t be buying stuff when you are half awake, and this applies especially to online shopping on iTunes. There’s a big sale going on for 50 popular iPhone game titles and they are priced at USD 2.99 and below. This includes Real Racing (USD 2.99), Doom Classic (USD 0.99), PAC-MAN Championship Edition (0.99) and many more. What happened was, I bought Metal Gear Solid Touch for what I thought was USD 1.99, only to find out few hours later that I mistakenly read the price, which was actually USD 2.99. This came at the tail end of 3 software deployments in the past 2 days, 2 of which I stayed up all night for 2 nights. LOL
