Basically an elaborate keychain, don’t let the small size fool you. Execute a combo properly for the particular character on the Cell Phone Strap (there are four designs – Chun Li, Ryu, Dhalsim, and Ken), and you’ll hear the character’s battle cry!
How cool is that? Priced at USD 14.90 each, these are available at Play-Asia. Want one? Click here for details.
It’s the month for sequels and this time it’s Assassin’s Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. While I’m not usually the type that goes all medieval on some digital baddies, Assassin’s Creed 2 looks rather awesome on screen. On the other hand, is Left 4 Dead 2…um…on the PS3?
I guess not. But in any case, check out the following video from Inside Gaming. If you don’t know what Inside Gaming is, it’s a popular YouTube video games news show, hosted by the infamous Dead Pixel.
This episode showcases both Assassin’s Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, along with special behind-the-scenes Assassin’s Creed 2 interviews with Corey May (Lead Scriptwriter), Yves Simoneu (Lineage), and Yannis Mallat (Ubisoft Montreal CEO).
Facebook may have taken over MySpace in terms of users, but when it comes to all things music, MySpace still takes the cake. Now you can listen in on the official soundtracks for both Need for Speed SHIFT and Need for Speed NITRO on the official Need for Speed MySpace page.
I’ve taken a listen, and I can’t help but feel that the soundtrack to NITRO wouldn’t sound out of place from an SSX game. Speaking of SSX, hey EA BIG, when’s the next game coming?
Back to all things Need for Speed. Fans of the official NFS MySpace page can stream music from the game, learn more about the artistes, check out the Concert Gallery, and view the NFS community calendar – the source for events, tourneys and DLC releases.
If you want to know who’s on board for the soundtracks to both games, check out the listings, click here for SHIFT, and here for NITRO. The soundtracks feature the likes of Tokio, Eagles of Death Metal, Ft. Knox 5, Deadmau5, Kasabian, Lady Sovereign and yay…..Dizzie Rascal.
So, not only does Bayonnetta have very long hair, her soundtrack is of epic proportions as well, spanning a total of 5 CDs! You read that right, 5 CDs. Here’s the product description for this particular box set:
Created by Kamiya Hideki, Bayonetta has some of the most stunning action sequences in game history and one of the most beautiful, sensual and totally awesome black witches. Bayonetta sweeps gamers off their feet with a toss of her head and a faint smile on her lips, the music composers take gamers to that world beyond the secretive smile.
From the theme song to the atmospheric background music, this 5 CD package is a musical journey into that dangerous dimension. Read what the director Kamiya and the music producers have to say about the fan favourited pieces in the booklet and gain a deeper understanding of the witch’s adventure.
This box set is now available, at a discounted price of USD 47.61 with free international shipping to certain countries. Check it out over here.
Did you know that, as a whole, the Need for Speed franchise has sold over a 100 million copies? That has to be one heck of an achievement. To commemorate this, the NFS community team have invited Vehicle Styling Director, Andy Blackmore, to talk about his time in the franchise since joining Electronic Arts back in 1999.
You can download the podcast, dubbed the 100 Million Special, over here (opens iTunes).
Also, be sure to sign up for MyCokeRewards for a free code to unlock the Coke Zero Dodge Viper SRT10 in Need For Speed SHIFT!
If you are a Need for Speed fan, or simply crazy about drifting, head on over to the Formula D Round 7 Championships at the Irwindale Speedway at Irwindale, California this weekend. There’s a NFS booth set up there and you’ll get to watch pro drift racers duke it out for the best lap time in the Royal Purple Need for Speed SHIFT Time Attack Challenge.
Mention Brands Hatch and some Malaysians may actually recognise the name of one of the more illustrious race car circuits in the UK. This is because the track plays host to the A1 GP, and there’s a Malaysian team in there.
Now, ordinary folk like you and me can get to race on track as well, albeit virtually. The guys over at EA are nice enough to whip up a track guide trailer for Brands Hatch, and if you have Need for Speed: Shift, here’s your chance to pick up some tips.
For those of you who have not gotten NFS: Shift, whatcha waiting for? The game is out now for the PC, Xbox 360 and Sony PS3.
Vroom vroom. Now that I’ve got the game (Need for Speed: Shift), this performance tuning trailer should come in handy. If you are looking for what car upgrade/tuning options that are available in this game, let this trailer enlighten you as well:

Donington Park, according to Wikipedia, has the distinction of being the first permanent park race circuit in England having been built in 1931. The course has undergone some notable changes since then, one being the hairpin turn you see on the circuit map below:
Here’s a bit of trivia: Donington Park would be hosting the British Grand Prix beginning 2010, but this was put in doubt when Bernie Ecclestone announced that Silverstone would be the 2010 venue if Donington Park was not ready to host it (Wikipedia article here)
The race track is also featured in the recently released Need for Speed: Shift. Check out the circuit guide trailer for Donington Park below, courtesy of the people at NFS and hopefully you can pick up some pointers and improve your lap times (and positions..of course):
