Remember Worms on the PC? I’ve played the original Worms and its various iterations; there’s something about blowing up an entire team of opposing worms with crazy weapons (try a banana bomb or a sheep bomb) that kept me coming back for more. For the record, Worms Armageddon was the best. The year is now 2010 and the guy behind the Worms franchise, Team 17, are about to launch Worms Reloaded on the PC (available on Steam for pre-order, launching on the 26th of August).

As a treat (especially for those in desperate need of practice), Team17 has introduced a very special price reduction – for a limited time only – for Worms in the App Store. This covers the  iPhone, iPod Touch and the recently released iPad edition. The mobile game, which is a classic action-strategy title, provides almost limitless mayhem with stacks of entertainment for single-players and multi-players.  Worms was the 3rd best selling game app in the UK 2009 (7th App overall) and was No.1 in a host of territories. I just bought Need for Speed: SHIFT for the iPhone and having played and reviewed other games like Split/Second and Fast & Furious Adrenaline, NFS SHIFT still has a gear up over the competition despite being released earlier. Furthermore, the game was on sale alongside other Electronic Arts games such as Command and Conquer Red Alert, FIFA 10 and SimCity at just 99 cents each!

I’ve bought 2 of the other 3 games, with the exception of FIFA 10, since I already bought EA’s FIFA World Cup 2010 when it went on sale during the launch of the actual World Cup 2010 tournament. I bought a couple of games yesterday from the PSN Store for the Playstation 3 and one of them was so heavily discounted I couldn’t just let it pass by. Noby Noby Boy was selling (still probably is)  for just RM  9 as the Malaysian PSN Store had this Chinese New Year promotion going on.

The first game that I bought was actually Outrun Online Arcade for RM 42. Drifting through corners and Magical Sound Shower FTW!!
