Enter Fight Club: The King of Fighters-i 002 Hands-On

Yesterday I got the opportunity to check out the new King of Fighters game by SNK Playmore for the iPhone, The King of Fighters-i 002. It was just a short play-through but the experience was generally awesome. Fan favourite characters, including Kyo and Mai are available in the roster of 13 fighters and the gameplay (on a friend’s iPhone 4) was smooth all the way through.

One thing that immediately caught my eye was the amazing 2D graphics which IMHO was way more detailed and colourful than Capcom’s 3D-graphics based Street Fighter IV. I’ve got only one gripe with the game, it has a sticker price of USD 7.99 on the iTunes App Store, making it a rather expensive proposition among iOS apps. With that kind of price, I’ll hold on with Street Fighter IV Volt until SNK Playmore decides to give the game a discount.

But if you can’t wait, check out the game over here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-king-of-fighters-i-002/id445305792?mt=8
