Treasure Seekers: Visions of Gold HD (iPad) Game Review
Treasure Seekers: Visions of Gold HD is the first hidden object game that I’m reviewing on the iPad and I must say that the game blows expectations right out of the water. Taking advantage of the iPad’s generous screen real estate (and resolution), the game’s levels are highly detailed and beautifully drawn. Players are tasked with searching for different sets of items in a level and the amount of detail in each level makes this a pretty challenging pixel hunt.
I was looking for a pair of pliers and didn’t realize it was placed lying down, making it look different from the picture. Thankfully there’s a hint button which recharges each time you use it and it’s pretty handy in a pinch. Some items might be hidden within containers, such as a compartment in a wall clock, or at the bottom of a barrel (!). While it may take a while to get pass a level, there are several puzzle type levels to break up the monotony of just pixel hunting. One had me piecing a treasure map together, while another was an IQ test in disguise.
There’s a story involving looking for pirate treasure and it pretty much drives the game forward without being a bore. The real stars of the game, however, are the beautiful graphics and the fact that the game plays really well on the iPad. The developer can do well to include a zoom function (some of this stuff is actually pretty hard to see), and perhaps scrap the Facebook function (I was pretty confused because I felt the game was waiting on me to trigger this before proceeding to the next level).
Treasure Seekers: Visions of Gold HD is currently available at the App Store for just USD 4.99. Check it out over here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/treasure-seekers-visions-gold/id388932738?mt=8#. Highly Recommended
