iphones

Yup, I got myself a brand new iPhone 3GS from DiGi to replace my old iPhone 2G today. The iPhone 2G was a hand-me-down from my brother and it became Nine Over Ten 9/10’s handheld gaming device of choice in terms of coverage and reviews, replacing the Nintendo DS.

Having gotten used to the rather laidback way the 2G behaves, the 3GS sprung several surprises on me, namely its speed and responsiveness as well as new features like the GPS and the auto-focusing 3 MP camera. I haven’t got the chance to try out the video editing feature but it’s definitely something to check out in the near future.

iTunes made it very easy for me to backup my old 2G and restored everything to the new 3GS. Such convenience! And what of the fate of my 2G? I’ll be passing it to my mum (she likes collecting handphones), calling it iPhone 3H…which stands for iPhone Thirdhand. LOL.

Here’s a little note from my experience at the DiGi iPhone launch: The staff at the Mac City counter were slow and unprofessional. I waited 40 minutes to pay for 2 iPhone leather casings and have the screen protectors applied. The staff simply decided to run off and disappear at the point where they are suppose to apply the screen protectors. My girlfriend and I were the only customers there.
