The King of Fighters XII First Impressions (PS3)

I received my copy of The King of Fighters XII for the PS3 yesterday afternoon, and upon play-testing it, there were some initial pros and cons to take note of. And for the first time, my Dual Shock 3 controller has experienced a proper shakedown.

A proper review will be coming up soon, but if you can’t wait, here are my first impressions of the game:

  • Graphics: Very rich, colourful, vibrant, all the nice mother statements with regards to graphics can be associated with KOF XII. And keep an eye out for some of the stages, the backgrounds are so brilliantly animated, to the point of distraction.
  • Gameplay: Simple mode makes it a little easier for novices to tackle the single player matches, but you might want to step up to normal mode for the online bouts.

  • 772 MB patch might be a bummer for some, especially those with slow lines
  • Said patch doesn’t really do much to improve on the online experience, it’s still a slideshow out there.

Stay tuned for the full review once I get the 2 player mode on and the online mode sorted!

Sigh.. our slow connection really a big bummer for any type of online games. I can’t even have a stable line to update the PS3.

Btw, how does KOFXII compares to SFIV?
